A Sculptural Staircase with Defined Geometry and Enclosed Elegance
Zigzag stairs (closed riser) are minimalist in design, featuring a single element: a plane folded in a zigzag pattern. The metal stair structure is hidden from view, while glass guards can be seamlessly embedded into the monolithic wooden stair body. A simple top-mounted handrail emphasizes the staircase’s clean lines.
A self-supporting zigzag stair, detached from side walls, is typically at least 5” thick to minimize deflection.
Delivery to your job site is available at an additional cost—please inquire for pricing.
Upon request to match wood finish, Mrail will do our due diligence to provide the best match, but cannot guarantee an identical replicate. Finish matching is free of charge, unless the requested finish requires special techniques (e.g. Solid paint, Antique, Glazing…)
Please note: Guards and handrails are not included in the stair price. Please inquire about pricing.
If a client wants to install the glass guard themselves, Mrail can provide an offer for the necessary hardware, standoff receiving sockets in steps, glass drawings and glass panels.
Taxes extra.
